Endurance foods for a Nurturer

I just started the body code diet and exercise program. I am a nurturer, I do not need to lose size per se but need to lose body fat.

I am an avid weekend warrior - summertime is multi-day tough backpacking trips, winter is downhill skiing.

Question: When I am undertaking an endurance event (like a 17 mile day hike) what types of foods should I eat? I currently eat Power Bars, GU, Hammer Gel while on the trail. Are these good for a Nurturer? It is hard to pack fruit and yogurt (weight and lack of refrigeration)

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

These endurance activities of four hours or more demand that you eat to fuel your glycogen stores frequently. The fuel sources that you are using are very appropriate for such activities. They lack the spice and high fat that is most detrimental to your ovarian driven metabolism. Keep up the great weekend warring... it's great for your body and soul.
